Recently I spent a weekend up in Astoria with very little agenda. The weather was gorgeous (maybe too gorgeous for this time of year) and it ultimately ended up being two days of food, sleeping in, clothes shopping, and exploring - all things I desperately needed.
This images was made while walking down a random trail at Cape Disappointment. A truly bizarre name for a very pretty part of the world. Looking at it reminds me that sometimes I truly need to just randomly walk and make images without a real end game in mind. I think that is a healthy exercise for photographers in the same way that carrying a sketch book helps motivate the brain for a painter. As the days grow longer and longer I need to make more of a point to do this.
